Pneumatic Press
The pneumatic presses are used when the volume of work at hand is beyond the capabilities of manually operated machines such as an arbor press. The pneumatic presses are operated by gas or air that is pressurized and stored in a cylinder.
Advantages Of Using A Pneumatic Press
1) Pneumatic presses are low-maintenance, easy-to-use, and durable.
2) These presses are considerably faster than hydraulic presses and can be halted based on the need.
3) The pneumatic presses show high resistance to wear and tear as the dry, moisture-free air used in these presses does not create problems for internal parts.
Hydraulic Press
The hydraulic presses essentially use a liquid that moves under pressure rather than air or gas. These presses are often used for big power and tougher materials and have a piston that pushes down inside, putting considerable pressure on a baseplate that, in turn, gets pushed downward. Therefore, the working of a hydraulic press is quite complex as compared to a pneumatic press
Advantages Of Using Hydraulic Press
1) Hydraulic presses are quite dependable and are capable of many tasks.
2) The hydraulic presses are a superb fit for jobs involving tougher materials or when the work involves repetitive pressing.
In a nutshell, the pneumatic and hydraulic presses have a lot of similar functions and deliver work of almost the same quality. However, the main difference lies in their speed. While pneumatic presses are much faster than hydraulic presses, the hydraulic press on the other hand, are more efficient for repetitive tasks. Therefore depending on the requirement, pneumatic and hydraulic presses both have their pros and cons and thus should be chosen based on the work requirement.
